in my opinion i think you should do some research around the salvage yards...check out the prices here, look up a 2003-2006 silverado 2500 6.0 engine and sort by price....
http://www.car-part.com/
and also remember that the craigslist engine you might buy doesnt come with a 6 month warranty.

Agreed. Especially with the "core charge"
According to LKQ's warranty policy "The part is installed in an application for which the vehicle manufacturer did not intend it" deeming it NULL/VOID. This meaning you cannot use this for a swap and expect to be covered in the 6 month warranty.

If you run the engine when you get it and it has a problem, return it.. this would be before its installed in the car. I am aware of this LKQ stipulation, i work for them, just run it before hand.

I'd also appreciate you posted here if you interested in an engine...not giving me a hard time over the price, which these prices are the AVERAGE across the U.S.
Cant believe i post a link for you to look up the costs nationwide and you still argue its high.

I already said Twice, theres no core charge on FREIGHTED engines, which would probably be 70% of people on here maybe more. if your not here to buy an engine, GTFO of my thread. Iroc, i saw multiple posts from you on others for sale threads of their prices being too high... well you know what, all those parts you posted that on sold, and your $400 LS1 front accessory kit you sold??? pshh gimme a break guy i pieced one together for my swap for $245 from a JUNKYARD. now everyone stop cluttering my thread with crap, if you want to compare JUNKYARD prices on LQ4's and LQ9's then stop being lazy and go on CAR-PART.COM and look up the AVERAGE prices yourself.

Re: (5) LQ4 6.0 Engines For sale
As a private seller, I had the ability to negotiate. They sold for $300 anyways, so $400 wasnt too bad of a starting point. Perhaps you should just let your COMPANY MARKET AND SELL THEIR OWN ENGINES instead of you try to sell these ridiculously marked up, high mileage engines. I think anyone who is serious about doing an lsx swap will know a good price when they see one, and in this case there isn't a deal to be had here.
But any way thanks alot for trashing my thread, mods please delete, looks like i need to make a new thread now. jackass.

Re: (5) LQ4 6.0 Engines For sale
sadly, I live in a town with that has 6 junk yards, and big ones at that, the only guy that sells engines that high, also sell a lot of drugs and I (or any of my friends ever buy from him)
I am not saying that you sell drugs.
These motors are about due for rebuild, they don't come with no acc. and freighted to boot.... if they have piston slap like most high mile truck engines, or scared bearings, the best case we have to pay freight twice...
We are mostly swappers here and most of us know with your sale, we might as well buy a brand new 6.0l block for 650 at a Stealership, go to ls1tech.com buy a rotation assembly and some LS3 head or cheaper and intake and be way ahead of the "Deal"
you know what, I might head over to ls1tech.com and start selling 6.0's sounds like they don't care about paying high dollar for a little more then cores
and don't get me started on car-parts.com... that drug dealer i mentioned is all over that... that's a good place to rape an insurance company....

1st of all these engines are not mine, they are XXQ's engines (blocked for non-sponser reasons)
2nd of all, im doing a swap with a 5.3 myself, which means, im pitching these engines on a THIRDGEN CAMARO and FIREBIRD FORUM, which when installing one of these engines the truck parts dont work/fit under the stock hoods, by selling off the truck parts included (AS I DID), they pay for the LS1/LSx parts you need such as the intake, rails inj;s etc.
3rd, i have seen about 50 6.0 trucks come into my yard with over 150K miles and they never had a bad engine, we even pulled the top end of a 200K mile 6.0 top end burner and the cylinder walls still had cross hatching from the factory.
4th, These engines come with a warranty (6 months) (PM me for my cell number and ill talk to you about it)
5th, im selling these engines out of MA, so yes the prices may seem high to you in your area of the country but the price varies, especially when buying from a junkyard. You mentioned something about $650 for a dealership block?????? Hmmmm now i know you havent a clue, my father's been with GM for 30 years and currently has been @ Colonial West Chevy in Fitchburg Ma for about 18 years as a parts manager, just spoke to him about that 6.0 block, hes 99% sure he cant order a block only, just a short block but regardless its gonna run you over $1000. (go ahead, google and call, act like a normal customer and ask for a price)
Car-part.com is an excellent source to find parts, you can even still find tons of thirdgen parts on there, just remember, if you call a random yard and act like a retail customer on the phone, your gonna get treated like one, right up to the time you have to pay for that part you desperately need.
Do some Research, like a said before, stop cluttering my thread... I sell recycled parts for a living and i dont go around posting BS, im 100% honest about what i sell and if i make a mistake ill admit it. These posted prices are good average prices for the miles they have.

Re: (5) LQ4 6.0 Engines For sale
wow, everything i said back and you only come back with pricing... interesting. Tell you what, ill put together a price list of all the parts you need from a bare block to complete, using used part pricing off forums and CL and ill get back to you. Do you really think you can build a complete 6.0 for less than what we sell them? Naive. For my 5.3 build i got lucky on quite a few parts, there was only ONE LS1 oil pan in the country on CL for $25, i paid him $75 shipped, lowest new price ive seen is $190.00, lowest used price on the tech ive seen is $120 + shipping, your $689 block + the cheapest used pan = $809 and you still have to buy, intake, fuel rails, TB, manifolds or headers, crank, rods, pistons, rings, bearings, valley cover, front and rearcovers, wiring, flywheel or flexplate, a ton of hardware. Would you have a brand new running engine when your done? of course.. but if you saved yourself a couple thousand and bought a used 6.0 complete and sold off the parts you dont need for the parts you need, you'd have a ready to run engine in probably half the time. Where are the LSx guys on here to back me up?? Oh maybe you make $100K a year and thats why your arguing that building an LSx motor from scrap is *cheaper*.
Mods please lock this thread, anyone interested in an engine just PM me, anytime.

Re: (5) LQ4 6.0 Engines For sale
I didn't say cheaper, i said better "deal"...
and you know what, I am really tired of this stupid arguement,
i bought 2003 lq4 with harness, all accessories, w/4l80e for $600. with only 76,000mile...
from a junk yard I never go to, so they didn't really hook me up!
I used the alt., starter, coils, wires(spark), map, all other sensors,
bought a (advanced auto) waterpump, used the truck one for the core, did the same thing with the powersteering pump.
The powersteering res. and pull from the dealership.
I got and intake with rails and injectors for $100 (ls1tech)
oil pan kit, pick up and tray for 175
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-19212593/
then i got a set of 2002 manifolds (ls1tech)
You know what I don't care, I have been on this site for 10 years. I don't care what your selling or for how much. I care about everyone else on here that is trying to make their 3rd gen bird, or camaro the best they can for as lil money as possable. I have done 8 third gen swaps, and I believe I was the first to put a 4l80e into mine without the help of anyone. (they all said I would have to beat the hell out of my tunnel< I didn't even touch it)
Other then buying HPtuners Pro, I do the whole swap for about what your asking for just and engine.
I do make 82,000 a year, because I have two Engineering degrees, and a Masters in Electro/Mechanical Engineering... But I am a bang for the buck guy through and through.... with all of my college = I have zero college loans, I worked the whole time, while always looking for the best deals, in everything I do, college, cars, boob jobs, guns, just about everything I do (bang for the buck)....
this will be my last post on this, waste of a time subject.
I hope you don't waste another post, (time of your life) on trying to belittle a potential customer, or atleast someone who could help you with your swap!

Re: (5) LQ4 6.0 Engines For sale
its not a waste of my time, this is not really a "topic/subject" thread, its a for sale thread and i cannot change the prices of what i sell. The prices given are average prices for a 100-140K miles LQ4 engine assembly in the New England Region. I may not have been on this site for 10 years, but at the age im at now (27) i have experience since i was 9 years old when i rebuilt my first SBC 350 carb engine along side my father and uncle. There are too many factors to be comparing your LQ4 dropout price to what im selling, like, was yours tested? did it come with a warranty? You re-used the alt and starter? i bought an F-body alt and low mileage starter to be safe. Its harder than ever to find a cheap LS1 oil pan kit since everyone is going LSx and its a versatile pan and everyone wants it. Also, WHEN did you do your last 6.0 swap??? Things change...
Lastly, im not here to belittle ANYONE... I'm trying to offer some engines at my COMPANYS price. And i dont make $82K a year, must be nice. Ask me about how much i can get you a 5.3 for... everyone loves the price of those. LQ4's are in high demand in my area. Done
LOCK this thread please. Again, PM me if you want an LQ4, LM7, L33 (if i can find one) LS1, whatever. thanks

I hope you don't waste another post, (time of your life) on trying to belittle a potential customer, or atleast someone who could help you with your swap!
and you know what, I am really tired of this stupid arguement,
i bought 2003 lq4 with harness, all accessories, w/4l80e for $600. with only 76,000mile...
from a junk yard I never go to, so they didn't really hook me up!

You are the one who came in to **** on this guys thread and now your saying you don't want to continue to argue. You wasted your own time bud. Next time just don't say anything if you can't finish what you started.
82,000 a year. Impressive! Hey man can i see your boob job?

82K a year should get you the billet model of this. Check it out on ebay....
On second though, you might find it cheaper to make one....
The guy was clearly posting for his company as stated, don't like the prices? Crying about it and towering over him helps!
Edit - In my area if I can find a LQ4 in a junkyard, I'd be lucky to get it for less than $700 with high miles... You clearly got lucky on the low miles + trans.

Re: (5) LQ4 6.0 Engines For sale
I went to my local garage asking about an lq4, turns out two weeks later they were doing a swap and I got it free 84,xxx miles with harness, so just gotta no where to look instead of getting suckered in to paying too much for nothing. That's my two cents
