Aluminum SBC Heads # 10088113 Question
Hey everyone !
I got a guy trying to sell me a set of these heads . They were pulled from a ZZ4 engine and are in good shape , except they are minus the springs and rockers . The problem is I think that $600 bucks is way out of line for a set of uncomplete stock style corvette castings. What do you guys think ? Also , I believe have to use the '87 and up TPI intake manifold instead of my stock '86 manifold , unless i modify the bolt holes on the intake , is this correct ? Thanks for the info , it is very much appreciated

Bare castings will run you around $500 new. If you're getting the valves, retainers & keepers, it's about a wash.
Those heads use the '86-earlier intake manifold bolt pattern.

The springs and rockers are not worth worrying about. Springs and their hardware are cheap, you should change them from the stock stuff anyway if you plan on doing anything more than stock with them, and the rockers that come on a ZZ4 are the same stamped sheet-metal garbage as come on any other factory motor. No great loss.
If you want the heads, that's not too bad of a price, if they're complete otherwise (the right valves still new, studs)

I have a set of the "113" heads my self and I think $600 is a bit steep. Mine have a bigger valves and a mild port job and I would expect to get about $500 for them.

OK one more question about these heads . I see that they are angle plug heads . Does this pose any problems seeing that the stock heads are straight plugs in the 3rd gens ?

I see that this is an old thread but just incase someone is reading up on them. The valve covers are center bolt but These heads still take the older style intake(86 and earlier i believe)
