Where to get TT headers & question

I'm putting together a 355 right now with forged everything with low comp. in anticipation of doing a TT setup, problem is I can't find the turbo manifolds anywhere!!! My question is 1. Where to get them from and 2. can you just flip the stock manifolds upside down and weld a turbo flange in place of the collector? HELP!!

1.) No where. No one makes 'em.
2.) No Flipped headers will not clear.

DO a search. The topic has been beaten like a dead horse.

i am pretty sure s-10 swap headers will work upside down but the gaskets blow from the stress.

Those headers LOOK like they might work... But do they? Generally the thigh underhod clearences of 3rd gens means that sutff for any SBC wil not clear. There are plenty of turbo kits avaliable for SBCs but not necessarily 3rd gens.

EDIT i read the post above and clear as day - They DO NOT fit with out major modification. Not to mention the near 2K price tag. Talk to guido he might be talked into doing something like that, Othen than that from what I have read the welding required to make log style manifolds ins't too hard.

THERE are TT manifolds avail...You can get them from Banks!...I have posted this before and people keep saying they are not made and nobody has them...wrong!..The part # is 51100

is that the cat iron one? they have one side but not the other which part # is the one you are showing?

that part # is for the SET/complete TT manifold kit....You can order it direct from Banks' dealer only department or from one of their dealers.

If anyone is interested, I will be making twin turbo header this winter for third gens very similar to the Stainless works type. I've done many types of honda turbo headers, you can check me out on my cardomain. All tig welded and in steel 1 3/4". I do all my own turbo flange autocadding also.

I dont usually shop in canada but whether you make headers for a twin setup or a set of headers and a "Y" for a single I think you will do well.

Well as I said it will be an estimate, and keep in mind they are not stainless. I've been buying alot of mandrels for other projects, my supplier cuts a nice deal. And doing my own autocadding cuts a lot of costs. Stay tuned, as I get further into this, as I've said to others, I will post some pics.

thanks for the compliment... we have a small empire here of honda guys, pretty competetive from here to Ottawa.... making headers pays the bills.

since his arent made of stainless, that is why his cost less then the stainless works. however, if his fit without modifacations, then that is a definent positive.

even if they arnt stainless I can get ceramic coating for turbo housings that would deff hold up on manifolds.

the ceramic I use now is tested upto and beyond 2000* Im sure thats good.

We’ve been through this before…

trans slam, if you take a good look at the numbers you’ll find that on a relative scale, f-body (particularly 3rd gen) owners are a cheap bunch. It works out that you’d have to have a killer connection on materials and great skills (to get them done at a reasonable rate) to make a profit on third gen turbo setups. Even if you work that end out you’ll still have to accept the fact that you’ll be making about half the profit for your input in time and materials then you would be if you did the same work for most imports (half the materials for each setup and less then half the time because of easier packaging).

Actually, the pricing has come down on a the materials in recent months, and people seem to be much more willing to compromise (I think that the last couple of times that we had this discussion it pretty much amounted to “If you made perfect fitting, stainless tubular turbo headers for about $400/pair I’d be interested…” No ****, I can make them myself but at that price it’s cheaper then what it would cost me) so maybe it would be easier now, but I still don’t see the incentive like there is for similar products for other cars. You’d be better off doing custom one off stuff like Guido is doing, you’ll get much less interest but a greater overall return.

You have some very good points, I never intend to make them en-mass. You are right, I do make more money doing one-off projects, and most of the time through our garage that's the way it is. The main exception being the honda header. I have quite a bit of plotted flanges on file, that cuts production time too. Theres nothing wrong with having the supplies around though to make a set, and document all my measurments. Things are faster the next time round. The cost of supplies is around 110-30 bucks USD for my honda header (4 - 1 w/ t-3 flange)....the rest of the cost is my time, I don't waste it, and out comes a decent product. I won't state yet that it will be a sucess, but support is appreciated.

As i said, I have many on file..... latest editons are skyline turbo flanges and some VW stuff.... Hondas and SBC's along with popular turbo flanges I did first.
