Best oil to run in a Paxton SN2000?
Consequently, I purchased a Paxton SN 2000 instead of an ATI After hearing Willie and Gudio talk of the problems they have had, I was really wishing i purchased an ati. So, I've had it for 2 yrs with 10K miles on it and have changed the oil every 1500 miles or 3mo, what ever comes first. I do this for preventive maintence. Anyhow, I noticed that some of you paxton guyz have been using the B&M tirck shift? Paxton says only to use Ford ATF or paxton's fluid or it will void any warranty. For now, i plan to stick with the ford ATF, Just fishing for anyone's experiences with using different fluids?

I also have an SN2000 on my car and decided I should run Paxton's fluid. I called them(about a year ago)to see what I needed and where to get it, the tech. told me they didn't make it anymore, because it turned to syrup in cold weather and recommended B&M Trickshift.

Slow..... I called paxton and told them what you posted and they said the best they have found was the ford atf. That's what i have been running and i just change it every 1500 miles. I know that it sounds like i chang it a little too soon, however, it's only 2-4 bucks and the longevity depends upon the serivce of the supercharger. They also said that the b&mtrickshift was not recommended but it does work although they did say that the one product that worked most consistantly was the ford atf.

When I tried the Trick Shift I noticed I had picked up a # or two of boost and that I could somewhat here the so called silent ball drive....not to an annoying point or anything.....It doesn't seem to have hurt the Paxton or anything but I'm not so sure being able to hear it isn't telling me something if you know what I mean.

Another thought I haven't seen here is the GM oil from a GTP or the likes. Dunno if it's endorsed or not and it smells like hell but I bet it's good stuff. The gear ratios of a centri are higher RPM though than a roots so usual disclaimers apply.

I don't know anything about the GMn oil,but GM performance has really impressing me lately. They don't hesitate to reccomend other peoples products if they think they will out-perform their own.Being a former employee and a former vendor thats not easy for me to say. What do'es paxton or roots have to say about it?The reason I run the Kenne Bell oil is because I will void my Whipple warranty if I don't.It seems stupid to void the warranty on a $8000 supercharger for $18 dollars worth of oil.Years ago I ran a Porsche that had twin Koenig turbos in it.0 to 28 psi,adjustable.A1400 lb car that put out about 1500 shaft horsepower. No way to get a rear wheel reading at 10,000 to 11,ooo rpm.The german engineers said turbo shaft rpm,s were in the 90 to 100,000rpm range. They caught fire all the time.Just keep driving and hope they went out.It was a rolling bomb with 4 wheels and a huge gas tank.A Can-Am car before they took all the fun out if it because of Lola and a whole bunch of other stuff. They did'nt care much about the drivers but they got ticked off when you starting killing spectators.Kinda like b-Gruppe (b-group) racing in the eighties.I f you try the stinky GM let me know what happens.pegleg201
