lol a new motor... With that much boost I would say the bottom end probably wouldn't last that long. You got any pics and details of your setup?

Re: 1990 twin turbo camaro 305 tbi

sure they are turbonetics?

That manifold is the classic EBay Bull-S manifold description with 42mm, 2.9mm wall. The wall is actual 18 gauge or 16 gauge which is 1.5mm. The manifold they probably copied was a quality unit with 2.9mm wall, but China makes theirs out of 1.5mm wall.

1990camaroredRS, I'm sure this is not the attention you want. Post pics or facts to show us you are serious and have a clue what you're doing, or you'll continue to be badgered.

Re: 1990 twin turbo camaro 305 tbi

look out for little pieces of your engine making a nice tinkling noise on the road as you grind to a stop. 10 psi is above the safe limit for a stock bottom end of either a 305 0r 350. you are either full of crap or misunderstanding the max boost your system is running. if its something you want to do to your car, don't lie about it. the people here are mighty helpfull if you don't bullsh*t them... but if you do its flame on.

450hp is pathetic imo for a twin turbo motor.
I have that with heads, cam, and mini ram

This thread attracts all kinds.

That is 450HP per turbo.

What do you get for cruise MPG with the 450HP N/A engine? Probably 1/2 of what a 450HP turbo engine (stock cam, heads, intake) would get. Not to mention the turbo engine having a smooth idle and stock sounding exhaust (if that sound is desired).

A new mini ram costs a little less than turbo setup to make 450HP.

It does not say 450 per turbo its says 450hp capable.
I get about 18mpg
I dont want a smooth idle
the ease of install more than makes up for the price when compared to an ebay turbo kit

The 10 lbs of boost that he says he's running is only 10 lbs not 20 lbs. In other words the boost from twin turbos is not cumulative, meaning the 10lbs from turbo 1 plus the 10 lbs from turbo 2 doesn't equal 20 lbs of boost. The airflow does however double at the same 10 lbs of boost.

All you people think you have real horse power from adding stickers and fuzzy dice.. I have the real horse power now because I mounted my subwoofers to my rear bumper and I play Sammy Hagar ,"I can't drive 55" really lound and it is like a JATO pack now. That was worth almost 2500hp doing that.. LOL

Re: 1990 twin turbo camaro 305 tbi

Wow, what a bunch of d-bags. This newb asked a decent question and hardly anybody really answered him. WTF, is this how we treat newcomers?

First of all, do NOT NOT NOT rev your engine past 5500 rpms.
Here is what you need to watch out for-

The first thing you should do, the next time you take it out, is to do a wide open throttle run, throw it in neutral, and shut off the motor. Then pull a few spark plugs and read them. Post pictures of them if you would like some analysis.

Your tune is EXTREMELY important. Make sure you are not running any leaner than 12.5:1. A wideband O2 sensor kit like the Innovate motorsports LM-1 would be VERY helpful.

I understand why people are doubtful of your setup. Turbo TBI? I can't recall ever seeing one, but its not impossible. Pictures would be fantastic!

I ran 16 psi on a stock 305 with a poor tune.

If you want a real answer to your question is watch your bottom end because you will be shredding it with stock internals. What we are asking isn't a hard request either, we would just like to see some pics of your project.

I am stunned! Everyone that posted an answer is an idiot!

A TT set up on a 305 tbi is really easy. It will work better with a manual trans.

Hmmm!!!! This comes from someone who gets a 2nd post to thirdgen.org!! If you read the real question is putting tt on a stock 305.. If someone here asks a question we attempt to answer it. No matter how small.. Instead of shooting your mouth off, Help out.
