Are TPI intake manifolds notorious for leaking?

Seems I have developed a small leak that allows coolant into my combustion chamber.............couple of guys that run TPI's say it is an intake manifold gasket - one guy has gone through 4 sets in 4...

I did this swap into my 79 K5 Blazer.............ran all new 3/8" steel fuel line found at NAPA and fittings from there also.

Avoid using rubber if you can except for the two high pressure lines...

Except that what you can't see is the 5" diameter hole in the radiator core support that the snout of the filter gets fed by at speed.

It's not optimal, you're right, but it lowered my intake air...

I used a Painless kit too, been running for 18 months in a K5 Blazer that gets used off road a lot and have had no issues with the wiring harness/connectors, etc. I'd buy one again, nicely marked...

Buddy of mine has two different TPI intakes - with the following numbers

10088015 (or 10066015, it's not clear if they are 8's or 6's)
14081005

Visually there is no diff...............anyone...

Guy on another board I belong to believes a TBI pump will work fine for a TPI car.............I don't fully understand how but what is the word here? Figure TBI is less than 15 psi, TPI is 43.5...

OK, the VSS is installed, wired, and operational. The park/neutral indicator wires were wired together to tell the ECM we were always in park/neutral.............hence no codes set. Cut that...
