Re: ON THE FENCE WITH THE LOOK OF MY NEW WHEELS

Like i said it doesn't require much hammering to run the 1.75"s. There are 3 spots that need a little massaging and they are not noticeable.

Re: ON THE FENCE WITH THE LOOK OF MY NEW WHEELS

I also have the 17x11 ZR1s on my car. I tried the 2" adapters first before switching to the 1.75". It looks much better with the 1.75" and doesn't require very much hammering.

Re: The most welcome sight when replacing the carpet .....

It can be. I've also heard horror stories of shops that were paid to do the work that cut a hole. On a Thirdgen 99.99% of the time I would be against a trap door. Mainly because you have to either...

Re: cant find LT1 headers???

You may have a hard time finding LT1 swap headers.
Here are the part numbers I had saved from when I did my swap.
They aren't stainless though.

He's excited there isn't a trap door. A big deal or point of argument on some 4th gen forums/groups. Not so much here.

Re: 4th gen guts/brakes in 3rd gen rear housing?

As stated above, if you have a drum rear the axle flanges must be modified. You basically cut the top portion off (where the wheel cylinders attach). Then drill the four bolt holes out using the disc...

Re: Fuel tank baffles

My '90 had a tank like that (just as clean inside) I pulled it and sold it to someone who had a tank that was all rusted out inside. Put the money towards a 99-02 style tank. It uses a fuel bucket....

Re: Carb to TPI 305, or LT1 swap?

I would go with the LT1 over a 305 any day. Don't fear the optispark, they get a bad wrap from people who don't know how to properly diagnose electrical systems. Being a '96 it will already have the...

Re: whos on top for making good after market converters/custom stalls

I went with an FTI 3800 HH in my 4L60E, awesome converter in my opinion. I think you will find if you look around they are recommended over Yank.
