I pulled only 4 plugs all they were light brown which is good. I'm going to pull the rest. I'll try that drip method but I have used a temp gun to check the headers while running and they seem fine.

I have the tps and I'll just put it in place of the current tv cable on the carb. and I'm already in the process of the trans tear down because it needed a sun shell. I do understand it's more work...

Cool thanks. I was probably going to go with a UMI crossmember anyway with the torque arm attachment on it instead of the tail housing.

I found this attachment that I could use and get a 4 bolt...

the NGK UR45 was the recommended plug for those heads. it was very slight detonation, which is why I was thinking just a step down would be ok.
