Re: Wiring power locks ????

Today is raining all day but if it clears up tomorrow I will. I know it is hard to see because it is between the outside body panel and the inside body panel. Here is a picture of the wiring diagram...

Re: Gauge Fuse MELTING, not blowing.

Quick thought. I'm not at home now so I can't check it out but do you have the right size fuse in there? I think mine is a 10.

Re: Gauge Fuse MELTING, not blowing.

That is correct. The reason I thought of that wire first was because the alternator has the potential to melt a fuse. Your just going to have to check each circuit one by one til you find the culprit.

Re: Wiring power locks ????

According to my Haynes manual, each lock switch has a black wire from the unlock position to the door lock relay assembly.

Re: Gauge Fuse MELTING, not blowing.

Is your voltage gauge working? Not sure on your car but on mine the alternator brown wire goes to the gauge fuse via the voltage gauge. Just a thought.

Alternator asleep?

I have been researching the forum and doing diagnostics for 2 days and can't figure it out. Alternator not charging battery. 88 GTA with engine swap to carb, however, I don't think that matters....

Re: Glasstek Hood

That's what I did. Got some of that thick metal mesh from Home Depot. It wasn't quite large enough so I had to add a couple of pieces of sheetmetal by the bottom edges.

I see you mounted the...

Re: Glasstek Hood

Since I don't have that setup I don't know how much room it needs. I can tell you I have a 400ci with a high-rise intake and a 3/4" spacer under the carb. It is a 4" cowl so it's pretty tall.

Re: Engine Compartment Cooling - Would this work?

Yeah I found that out. The position made me think it may be an air bleed. However, the alan head plug did tap into the cooling jacket and now controls my secondary fan.

If you don't mind trimming the bottom of the brackets to fit around the headers, this kit works well on vortec heads with headers.
