ZimGTA, I may be dumb, but I'm not that stupid. If I had the manifold, I think I could tell the difference. But, I don't have it yet. That's the manifold I'm required to run with a NHRA stock...

Can anyone tell me if an early '80's casting #055 intake manifold (Q-jet) is alum or cast iron. I believe this came on the '82-'84 150 HP motors.

I don't want to just wallow out the center holes of an existing manifold. The shoulder of the bolt head won't sit square on the manifold.

It's not a Vortec pattern. 12 manifold bolts, not 8.

I have a set of 14101081 heads that I want to use. The middle four manifold hold-down bolt holes (by the carb. area) are at a more upright angle than any other small block heads I've ever seen.
