Yep forgot about that. I use a 7427 PCM that uses the whole chip so no need for a offset. I think the TBI computers require a different offset because they use even less space.

A good tune is a upgrade on a bone stock motor but after a cam/intake swap you'll need one for sure. GM used a real crappy tune for what ever reason, I've heard it was to keep these cars a lot slower...

I've always used a spring compressor when doing springs. If you get a quality made one and a little common sense their plenty safe. When I did mine the compressor wouldn't compress the spring enough...

If you want a smooth ride I'd stick with tee stock style mounts. The plates really do firm things up, between them and the eibach springs it makes for noisy ride and you'll definitely feel bumps....

Personally I'd replace them with some caster camber plates. Pop one of the dust caps off and bounce the suspension up and down by pushing on the fender while watching the rubber in the strut mount....
