01 pontiac 3800 starts then stalls

I know its not third gen but i need help. my 01 pontiac grand prix 3800 non supercharged starts then stalls. if you hold the gas down you can keep it running and after about a minute or two it runs...

My car has the 305 tbi, so if i did this same build i can use my original wiring harness and throttle body but just swap to 350 injectors, 350 computer, and the knock sensor? :huh:

Update i got it running after i blocked the vaccum port on the bottom front of the carb, and turned my distributor a little bit. But now it wont idle. i think i just need to time it and adjust the...

havent been able to check yet wont run long enough, i put the distributor back in the same place it was. i marked the rotors location on the firewall when i pulled it out to swap intakes put it back...

i dont know, but just to see if any of that was messing up i ran a wire straight from the batteries positive to the coil and it did the same thing

I can check, i currently am running a qudrajet carb, wieland intake, msd wires and headers and thats all thats done to the engine besides a stock rebuild

i put a carbed 80s 350 in my car swapped intake to a weiland 8004 and now i cant get it to stay running. it starts then dies imediately, no clue whats going on ran perfect before i put it in anything...

thanks for all the info i like the fuel injection idea but i dont have a lot of luck with fuel
injection

so far i have decided to use 1-3/4" tubes and 3" col. headers

dished pistons to reach 10.5:1 compression

the xe274 cam

is an edelbrock 750 a good carb or should i get a holley instead

i am building a 383 and i was looking at rebuild kits from northern auto parts

the 1969-80 kit is only $189 but my block is a 92 block my question is will

this kit work in mine and if not...

i was thinking compression, im going to pull the valve covers off first too see if anything is sticking or broke, and if not im going to do a compression test on each cylinder
