irregular idle could be a vacuum leak. i really wouldn't mess with the idle screw unless its already been messed with, it should have a cap on it to prevent it being messed with. if its not there...

the engine has 145,xxx miles on it. the new ICM probably has 100(not 100,000. just 100) miles on it, I haven't checked the pickup coil yet, its on my to-do list. brand new cat so I know the exhaust...

you can just connect both lines with a pipe fitting. the only problem is hot coolant is gonna be running through your heater core all the time. ive seen a couple threads on this on the site.

make sure its actually the main seal and not the distributor O-ring. it drips oil all over the backside of the engine.

im having a little trouble with my 92 3.1 Camaro. im suspecting a vacuum leak somewhere in the car but im having a bit of trouble chasing it down. there are no obvious leaks or broken lines anywhere....

one last question. do you guys adjust cyl by cyl on TDC or do as the manual says #1 cyl on TDC and adjust half the valves (cant remember exactly which ones) then #4 cyl on TDC?

so you did 1/2 turn after it stopped spinning with one finger and that is 0 lash?
then on top of that you go the other 1/2-5/8 turn for the final adjustment?

that's interesting. because my manual doesn't call for any seals other than an O ring for the exhaust side. like I said in the above posts mine were all gone. I didn't really have any excess smoke...

$180 each??? that is unheard off. I called about 9 shops in the area and $350 was the lowest quote I got. thankfully my current cat is not welded in but it has taken me a couple hour to get it off...

I agree that the idle screw shouldn't be messed with , but in my case the PO had messed with it. that's always a possibility.

haven't changed the coil and I have no clue how old the cat is. I don't think the cat is stock though. the PO redid the exhaust I believe. I don't know when it was done though.
