The 87 looks to be a much better car, the 84 looks all bustered up. Yeah the floors are known to go real bad on F bodies as well as the 1/4's, door's and front fenders.

Like was said what does it matter if it's not a real IROC at this point? From what you say I am going to go with it's just a Z28, but you have had her 11 years so don't stop loving her now.

Good lick on saving her, looks like your making progress. That's one main reason I'm keeping my RS, there is some surface rust, but the underside is rock solid.

Sand the lips with say 400-600 to start work your way up to 2000 grit, now sand the crosslace sections with 400-600, maybe work up to like 800. clean the wheels good, once nice and dry tape off the...

I think both offers are very good, but if the car means that much to you then keep it for the $600. Like was said you can get a much lower clean 3rd gen for around 4 to 5 so pick one up and work on...

If its nit rotted through i would wire wheel it, POR15 it then undercoat, be done, if rotted rhen it will have to be plated, POR15 then undercoat
