Re: full Auto Meter gauge install

I would have done this but In Cali we have to SMOG test every two years
and having an odometer is a requirement. If I can't program the autometer it becomes more painful than cool.

Re: Instalation of afertmarket instrument cluster panel

I modified my original cluster, I didn't replace it with aftermarket, so I can't really say.

Only way to tell would be to take out your old one and compare them.

Re: Instalation of afertmarket instrument cluster panel

You can use the 82-89 hub kit from Grant, you just have to shave down the black dish it comes with about 1/8-1/4 inch to make it fit. After you remove the airbag you remove the airbag warning light...

Re: Instalation of afertmarket instrument cluster panel

Not too much. Just make sure you disconnect the battery so it doesn't blow up in your face.

I removed my airbag in my 91 and went with a Grant steering wheel. Damn thing looks like a brick in the...

Re: Instalation of afertmarket instrument cluster panel

Old cluster comes in and out nicely if you lower the column a few inches by unscrewing the nuts to the end of the bolts. You have to remove the steering wheel of course.

I'm really interested in the Dash wrap you did. Can I get some more details about how you did that?

Are you worried it will warp or crack under the leather?

You should change the color of your yellow instruments though, doesn't go well with the black/white scheme.

Outside of that it is VERY impressive.

Re: Reverse Glow Gauges for Camaro

Some of the Z28's (5.7 L98) had 145 mph speedometers. I believe the RS had one that only went up to 110 mph. If it's a 145 speedo then it won't match up properly. That was the only real difference.
