Widest Tires All Around w/o the Hammer

I was doing some research and I couldn't find a definite answer but what is the widest tire that could fit a 92 Z28 (both up front and out back) without breaking out the hammer and without rubbing......

You do have a very good point about traffic (esspecially in LA) but i live in a 'semi-rural' suburb of pittsburgh and there isnt much stop and go 'city' driving where i live. So i think that a stick...

Thanks everyone for you input but i think im gonna chase down a 305 with a manual trans., with the 305 only 2 tenths off its big brother im sure i could make up for that with some work.Thanks guys
