I would also set the engine to tdc on cylinder #1 and check to make sure that the rotor is pointing to number one plug wire on the cap.

So timing is somewhat set lol. I could hardly see the timing numbers and set it to 4 btdc. So i will reset to 6 tomorrow. The engine is a TPI. I had to disconnect the brown wire and used a crows foot...

The wire looks black only but it could be because its old. I think it is the thermal fan switch. Its in the same bundle that the starter wires are in. I'm going to replace the melted wire and broken...

Great thanks! I remember reading that site months ago. Now the next question would be how big of a tank or cfm I would need? My small compressor probably won't supply enough constant air pressure?

I found what looks like a sensor hanging off a wire near the passenger side of the engine block. The engine is a 5.0L in a 1988 firebird.
