Re: heater core replacement

It was a tricky job, but not *that* bad now that I look back on it. That top bolt was a pisser of course, but with the proper extension you can reach in from the top (dash pad + R speaker removed)...

Re: 1985 Z28 - 305 TPI T-Tops - $1,700

Since the forum only allows 5 pictures per post, I posted a bunch more on my Web site. Near the bottom are pictures of the motor. http://www.brassknux.com/z28/

Also, it has a clear title and has...

Re: 1985 Z28 - 305 TPI T-Tops - $1,700

I live in Bowie, zip 20715. I'm right off of route 50 not too far from Annapolis. I'd like to have the car sold very soon as I am a motivated seller! :)

1985 Z28 - 305 TPI T-Tops - $1,700 !!!SOLD!!!

I hate to see her go, but I have too many toys and not enough time. As the title states it's a 1985 Z-28 TPI, automatic tranny, t-tops that don't leak, 157K on the clock.

The interior is pretty...

Speed shops/garages in MD?

I think I posted this in the wrong forum (Northeast) last week or so, so here goes again. I'm looking for a 3rd gen friendly shop somewhere around Bowie/Crofton.

Particularly I need a welder to...

Good garages/speed shops in MD?

Initially I'm looking for a shop to weld on SFC's and most likely some future work. I live in Bowie (near Crofton), so if there are any garages with good F-body tech's, I'd love to hear about 'em.

Re: Dex Cool Antifreeze ????

I've been using Dex-cool in my 2001 Silverado and have never had a problem since day 1.

I hear that you're not supposed to mix the green and orange coolants, so if you go back to green, make...

Engine smoking - coolant burn off or overheating?

So I've been fiddling with the heater hoses and now when I start the car, after about 3 minutes the motor's passenger side starts smoking. Not a huge amount of white smoke, but enough to notice.

Re: Hatch not closing all the way

Here's something that's been bugging me: Are these aftermarket hatch struts TOO strong? I'm concerned because since the install, apparently the entire hatch has moved to where it obviously now needs...

Re: Hatch not closing all the way

Thanks guys, you're absolutely right. I went out and checked the hatch and the spoiler is now jutting out about 1/4 inch over since the new strut install.

I also noticed a rather large gap -...

Hatch not closing all the way

Never a dull moment with these classics. :)

So I replaced the hatch struts with ones from TDS - wow those things are stout. Now when I close the hatch, the clasping mechanism won't catch. I can...

Rear shocks - where to pull carpet?

I bought a pair of red Koni's and the manual says to drop the back seat down and pull up a piece of the carpet to get to the top of the shocks.

I was poking around where I thought the shock top...

Re: ****in sweet!

A sub will do wonders for your system. I'm not one for overpowering, window shaking bass, but a well-tuned subwoofer will nicely add just the right amount of bass.

I have subs/amps in both my...

Re: And the dealership price to replace heater core is.....

That's so true! I got the car for $1700 in fairly decent condition, so the core is a few hundred bucks under what I paid. Ouch!

I'm going to give the core operation another go in the next couple...

And the dealership price to replace heater core is.....

$1385!!! :gocrazy:

I figured something around the 5-600$ mark, but the service guy at my local Chevy place said it was around $1100 for just LABOR ($104/hr).

It looks I'm back out to the...

Heater core hose location?

I have an 85 Z28 with a 305. The previous owner noticed passenger side leakage and said the heater core needs replacing. To stop the leaking, he disconnected the hoses. I picked up a new core but...

Re: WTT 00 Mustang GT for a 350 IROC

Sorry, but I'm not a big convertible fan. For some reason, I've never liked 'em. :) Now, t-tops on the other hand are awesome in my book.

The Mustang is in pretty good shape. No dents or...

WTT 00 Mustang GT for a 350 IROC

I guess this is the right place for trade stuff. I have a black 2000 Mustang GT, 5 speed tranny, brand new tires (275's)/chrome cobra wheels, SLP loudmouth II exhaust, pullies, K&N, short shifter,...
