Same thing happened to my now gone 91 GTA. I also had a low voltage problem. Changed battery, alt, some wiring...never found the problem.

Trying to avoid small stickers. A giant one on the hood wouldn't be an option. I had it at some point in a 91 GTA I had, before the RAI hood. Looked good but is not what I'm looking for on the 88 TA....

Thanks for the reply. I already bought 1 5/8" headers so i hope that those, along with a proper tune, should help me pick some aditional 15rwhp maybe.

I know. That's why I think the numbers aren't bad, considering the mods. still having issues though. Next time I'll bypass the knock sensor and see how it behaves. Hopefully there will be no knock...

Ok so I did the tweaks I mentioned above and still got timing retard. I set the timing at 30 degrees of total advance so that no real know could happen and still got 8 to 10 degrees of.timing retard....
