Re: fan issue on a 92 Camaro

There is a fuse in the fuse box for the fan relay coil supply, the motor supply is protected by a fusible link coming off the battery. Should be an orange wire with a red fusible link.

Re: fan issue on a 92 Camaro

I don't imagine TBI being much different than TPI... if the fan kicks on at all your motor and relay is good. Your temp sensor for your gage should be in the driver's side head between #1 & #3 spark...

Re: I have an '89 chip in my '86 IROC. my cooling fan doesnt come on with my AC now.

Re: I have an '89 chip in my '86 IROC. my cooling fan doesnt come on with my AC now.

The switch is normally open and closes (thus creating a path for ground in the circuit) when the A/C is pressurized. Perhaps you have an incorrect switch?

Re: Fuse blows everytime it's connected

A bad light should not cause a fuse to trip, you have a short in the supply to ground. Trace all of your wiring from the taillights to the fuse box and ensure there is no physical or heat damage.

Buy yourself a wiring diagram. Everything must be grounded. Electricity is nothing to play with unless you fully understand what you are doing or are being closely supervised... Just my opinion.

The primary runs only off of the ECM. The secondary runs off the temp switch in series with the A/C pressure switch if equipped.

The housings are notorious for cracking, the nylon track bushings will also stop it from working. Typically the motor itself is good.
