its a very nice car, but i'm sorry you wont get 7 grand out of it with a stock 305 in it. thats 2k more than I paid for my 2004 300m and i've got about the same power as that motor plus heated...

well honestly the driveshaft never really just slid in for us.. it was persuaded wiht a 5lb mallet...

well we got the driveshaft into the tail housing now i need to figure out why its an inch short of mating back to the rear axle....

when I started this I had help (five years ago, the plan was to convert to a V8, i had a 4 bolt main 350 new carb intake, carb, cam, pistions, the works, just never got the mounts, or correct trans....

these guys are on there good (I was doing a one handed pull up on it, i weigh about 145lbs) i'll get a can of pb blaster and see if that helps. this thing has sat the last 5 years in my dads back...

thats what I thought some one would say, i tried that and cant get the bolts to budge. is there a trick here? (using 4 jack stands and two floor jacks plus a chery picker and load leveler, I should...

I've been fighting with this drive shaft and trans for 4 days now, they wont freakin mate up. I dropped the engine and trans in as one unit my dad says I should have put the trans and the drive shaft...

the 454 would be nice, the LNF would still get decen MPG ^_- not to mention the 454 would take up the entire engine bay of a 3rd gen. I'd go with a turbo 383 or 327 and be like "WHos got rice now...

the turbo 4 the mustang had, I doubt would be the 5.0, they were rated for the same HP but the 5.0 had more TQ IIRC..

if you want to really rile his feathers, save up and do a turbo 3.8 those bad...

the 3500 was to replace the 3800, it was used in quite a few cars..

it was in almost all V6 malibus out side SS and the newer ones getting the 3.6 it replaced the 3800 in the impala at some point...

with a 3.1 all you need is to reuse the throttle body ;) 3.1 is just a bored 2.8 with a different IAT and TPS sensor plug. IIRC ;)

okay so with a 700r4 trans all that is in the way is the motor mounts ? THATS IT! If you get those mounts lined up correctly would you be willing to make some more or somthing if enough people wanted...

the o-rings them selves were not cracked it was the very tip surrounding the injector opening. (I just put it all back together do I really have to redo those o-rings?)

beats the hell out of me, as i was doing was tightening the bolt down and it got really loose, so I looked at it and the lower part was dust... there aint nothing left to jb weld back on lol.it seems...

the 3900 is a 60/6 just the same as the 3500 just much larger bore and/or bore spacing. the 3.4/3500 or 3400 hybrid I would think would be easier than a strait 3400 swap.. the 3400 block was never...

the M90 from a GTP will face the wrong way. You would need to use the M90 from a Thunderbird super coupe, it wasnt intergrated into the intake manifold.

and the reason you where asked 3800 or 3.8...

if your doing that you just need the block from a RWD firebird/camaro and the upper from a FWD 3.4 make sure the junkyards know you want a RWD engine. 1600 for a pulled engine (running or not) out...

A turbo would be the simplest and most efficent way to make power on a 2.8, but for the same effort you could swap a 3.1 or 3.4 and make more power with basicly the same FE.

why not do a v8? because every body and their mother has a V8 fbody.

(And thats a new trans engine mounts, computer(unless swaping over to carb) possibly a new fuel pump..)

I always just asumed the 700r4 was used between both V6 and V8 just with a different bell housing. Never knew the V6 version had its own model desgination. (I'm still wanting a 200-4r though ;))
