Re: 92 305 TBI Intermittent Fuel/Firing

I agree with previous post - you need to verify fuel pressure. I posted on another thread on how a ruptured inlet hose caused a very similar problem.

Re: 305 TPI won't start warm

A faulty CTS can give you a high idle if it is sending a low reading, so its possible it could force a shut-off if it is sending an extremely high reading. The only way you will know if the CTS is...

Re: Overheating on stock 305, temp gauge reads normal.

I've never replaced the sender before - but if its anything like the sensor or T-stat you won't need to dump the coolant. You will most likely lose some when you remove the sender.

Re: Overheating on stock 305, temp gauge reads normal.

The coolant temperature SENSOR feeds data to the ECM - it does not connect in any way to the temp guage on the instrument cluster.

I've read the range on the stock regulator goes from 10-15psi. I can't get more than 12psi on mine.

Has anybody had a similar issue?

What about backpressure? Read the sticky on this subject.

A high flow cat may get you another couple of hp. You have to re-do the entire exhaust to really see a difference.
