It is the factory red (Bright Red). It has no rust whatsoever. As far as the cam, here are all the specs on the motor.
350 HP @ 5200 RPM
400 ft/lbs torque @ 3500 RPM
9.4:1 compression ratio...

I prefer white myself, but couldn't pass on this one when I found it 10 yrs ago. Thought about changing it to white when repainted, but was going to be too much trouble.
