Many people simply refer to the L98-derived motors as the same motor as the Vette. The main difference though was that the L98 Vette 350 had Aluminum heads.. But, no matter the case the whole top end...

If you are concerned about the lifters being contaminated, look at the top - they should have a snap ring or c-clip of sorts that can be removed. Just bear in mind that there is a stiff little spring...

That's my idea as well - heck the stock Vortec 350's with TBI were 255HP at the crank. And that's in a truck! Better to put a lower-end head in and really make it flow with other good stuff than to...

Yep, he means the TPI base I'd be rather certain.. I dunno how you guys do it - I changed my TPI out for a carb - $30 for an intake manifold and $25 for a holley carb and the thing will flow more air...

turn your mixture screw(s) in either direction a little - if idle speed goes up.. continue until it evens out. If you have multiple mixture screw you will want them to be at known starting points and...

color codes can be a bit tough - grey for example could be one out of several. If it is easy enough to tell which pin they are one the ecm connector someone can tell you what exactly that wire goes...

wow that's just as weak as the springs that come on Vortec heads, right? Well, leave it to GM :) If those numbers are roughly accurate I wouldn't feel safe going over 5k rpms! lol

Pully the dizzy and try to turn... take off the timing chain and try to turn when then doesn't work... and when that doesn't work.. pull the pan if you would like and have a buddy give it a turn....

Well... I would watch out which injectors you buy. According to various sources the yellow Bosch Design III's are 19LBS/Hr.

The issue with this is that some companies are selling them as 19LBS/Hr....
