Re: Bad noise when starting, fuel spitting out from carb

I know the starter is new, but that's all I know about it. Haven't checked to see if it gets warm, but it does spin quite fast, and is stock compression. It's not impossible that it's the wrong...

Bad noise when starting, fuel spitting out from carb

I just got done putting a 400 sbc in my 86 Camaro, and have recently had issues with it starting. The first 25 or so times were just fine, but recently there's been an issue where it will be...

Vibrations

I just finished installing a mild 400 into my 86. I noticed shortly after starting it, that I put the wrong balancer on (huge one, from a 350). Today I replaced it with the smaller one that the...

Re: 10.5in wide Keystone wheels value?

Hmm, my dad always called it a 10.5 inch rim. You may very well be right though, thanks for the heads up!

Re: 10.5in wide Keystone wheels value?

Thats kind of what I'm thinking. In good shape they'd maybe be worth some good coin, but they definetely need to be refinished.. I might just see what happens on ebay, never even thought of that.

10.5in wide Keystone wheels value?

Mods - Sorry if this is the wrong section, feel free to move it to one that suits it better.

My dad gave me a set of 4 Keystone wheels, which he had on his Cutlass when he was in highschool. ...

Re: Carb gurus inside! (tuning question)

Ok, I had someone that has a good amount of knowledge with SBC's take a look at it, and he re-did the timing (its now around 8ish degrees initial timing), messed with the air screws and replaced the...

Re: Carb gurus inside! (tuning question)

Yeah, I know.. Thats the problem, I don't know the specs on it. The current owner had a cam card, but he apparently lost it. He has all the paperwork and receipts from the motor rebuild, I'd assume...

Carb gurus inside! (tuning question)

Just picked up an 84 Z28, which has a 350ci out of a 72 K10 Pickup. It has a fair amount of hop-up parts, including Dart S/R Heads, custom grind cam, shorty headers, edelbrock rpm air-gap intake,...

Re: 305 TPI to 350 ?

Well, I probably won't be getting the Camaro after all. I was going to trade an old lifted Chevy truck for it, but I realized it would be smarter to use that through the winter (I'm in Minnesota)...

Re: 305 TPI to 350 ?

I'll take a look at those tech articles, I must have missed them..

Will a T56 fit right in there? What would be needed if not? I was thinking this would be a really cool idea, but wasn't sure...

305 TPI to 350 ?

I'm getting an 86 IROC tomorrow, in hopes of building a pretty nasty project. It has the 305 TPI motor, and I believe a 700r4. I have a 350 ci motor from an 84 (I think) Chevy truck. 4 bolt main,...
