Well not sure on how much. The major components were:

300 for new loaded cts-v calipers
330 for used srt-8 calipers and rotors
~600 for race craft spindles
60 for willwood proportioning valve...

You may be correct with your assumption. I am not too worried about hot air in the engine bay, this probably even means less hp with current conditions. I am more concerned about the future...

The driver I used was not used for 12 volts.

The voltage varies from the 12 volts so a robust driver is needed. Here are some that can run automotive applications.
