I replaced circuit 424 (tan/black wire) and that fixed the problem.

I tested it this morning, circuit 423 read .503 K Ohms. That's just outside of the 500 ohms it should be less than, what do you think?

It's near the top/rear(farthest toward the rear of the engine bay) of the engine.

About two years ago I drove my '90 RS 305 TBI with 220k+ miles on the engine from So Cal to No Cal and back over a 48 hour period. It was probably a total of 600-700 miles. The car made it fine.

It does it subtly at idle. Much more noticeable under load, almost like a motorcycle.

I agree with the above poster. It sounds like a timing issue, either ignition or perhaps cam. Verify cam timing via dot to dot alignment. A timing light will verify ignition timing.
