just wanted to get peoples thoughts on why it might be doing this...

in open loop, no real issues with idle. the real problem's in closed loop. in gear it idles around the 700 mark failry steady....

i bet your absolutely right!!! liquid filled gauge and under the hood, yep. so when its hot and saying 14 psi, its probably less in reality? set the pressure when its cold and forget the gauge when...

ok i can follow that. so are we starting to lean toward the map sensor? maybe go rent a vacuum pump and see what happens?

just coincidence that it could of gone bad at the same time as the belts...

im just running a map system so it is unmonitored, but that makes sense what you said in that if the o2 sees more air, its going to add fuel to even itself out. not decrease it :doh: which mine is...

i have stuff for tuning chips. no vacuum pump tho. it will usually idle in the 40-50 area in the blm chart. but now its all over the place

cam specs: .435 in. intake lift and .460 in exhaust lift with duration at .050 in. for intake is 212 and 222. a vacuum leak is not monitored air, so the o2 sensors seein extra air and tryin to drop...

thanks for the reply! its pullin 14.2 volts right now.

from my calcs with the formulas on this site i should have to run higher than 15 psi with my size injectors to feed my motor to full...

i was out a few weeks ago and shredded both my belts... ran it as far as i could on just the battery juice... got towed home... put new belts on... started it up, crappy idle, just crappy everything!...

since its outta the blue, i'd say look at the exhaust too. specially the gaskets around the o2 sensor or just a new o2 may be in order? as RFmaster has said. can you data log?

hey Ronny, do you use the SA cold bias constant? mine's set at 10* so my timing at idle and colder is only 14* would i be in big trouble if i zeroed out that bias?

thats a good point. i fugure i can buy a burner, the adapter for my ecm to be able to use the eeproms, along with a couple chips for less than $300. is the edl less than that? what else is needed...

fyi, its a 85 chevy k5 blazer. im running the gm crate 350 h.o. motor. heated o2, a 350 tb out of a 91 suburban 3/4 ton (thus the hd setup ecm 8747) no knock sensor or vss. if i knew what i know now...
