Well I figured out why it wouldn't shift into 1st or 3rd. After triple checking my rods and realized the transmission is shifting just fine when manually rotating the levers, I turned to the shifter....

The stock shifter mounting plate has a different bolt pattern specific to the tail shaft for the 82/83 4 speeds i believe. I have a t10 from a 70's camaro.

The car came with black door arm rests. I have bottom door sills. The sills (red) have a couple small cracks in them, but would make good for daily driver. Do not have a chin spoiler.

the ground for the rear lights is a black wire from the left rear of the car. If you take some of the rear interior trim away from the car, on the driver side in the rear there should be a wire loom...

all fixed, turn signal switch i had was correct. Ground wire was not grounded properly and was causing the issue.

One of easiest ways to check for header leak is to start ur car at night or in a dark place and watch for sparks. Then once u find the leak u prob will need new exhaust gaskets from local auto store....
