Re: Project "ThunderChicken"

I have the same jackstands, jack, dirt work space, mounted my fuel pump in the exact same spot, and I have a red 85 T/A that I put all UMI suspension on.
We have way too much in common Bob!

Re: Carburated 350 bogs down at WOT

Its a long shot, but I once had something similar around 4k rpm and it was due to a catalytic converter that had broken apart and was blocking the exhaust. Can you verify there are no obstructions...

Re: Carburated 350 bogs down at WOT

Try temporarily disconnecting the vacuum advance(and plug it) then try it and see if it changes at all.
And are you getting any pinging?

Re: Carburated 350 bogs down at WOT

My first guess would be accelerator pump, but since you tried different settings to no avail, what's your fuel pressure and how many degrees of advance are you running on your distributor?

Nice!
I wrote an RPO decoder quite a while back that draws off several different lists, apparently GM's RPO codes change periodically.

Have you tried the extra slots in the fuse box that say IGN, located under the driver side dash left of the steering column?
You can simply use a spade connector of similar size to a fuse and plug...

Re: Using subframe connectors as jack points?

Thanks, but I'm still not sure how I'd get the top coat up, over, and down between the SFC and the pinch weld - there is very little space to get anything in there...except water.

Re: Using subframe connectors as jack points?

Very cool!
How did you go about protecting the weld points to the rocker from rusting?
And did you bend the pinch weld over to reach the SFC or did you use something else to bridge the gap?
