Finders keepers

Hello Everyone,
Please send anything you want. At the post office you will need to fill out a Customs Form.
All is going well, wish I was home.

Photo shows some of the wild stuff you can find in the desert. Iraq has more ammunition than the US and it's everywhere.
I think I'm going to join the Novice Rocket Club, no park will be safe.

P.S. that is a Soviet made AT-3 Sagger Anti-Tank Missile, I found 50ea

Hey Rich is this what I put on the package I send to you and your unit?

If so let me know here so I can send some goods your way, also let us/me know what the most important thing you guys are doing without?

We all appreciate the job you're doing over there for your country, and your in my families prayers.

I happened to end up in the hospital for about a week, nothing compared to what you guys are going through there, but I understand EXACTLY what it's like to not have the convienience of a mini-mart across the street, or a pizza when you don't feel like cooking.

Being deprived of the pleasantrys of normal everyday life, and a regular home for a few days will really make a guy appreciate the little things. I look forward to your reply, as soon as I find out were to send it, it' on it's way. That is considering you'll still be there.

Keep safe

Hello everyone,
Glad to see that everyone is enjoying the pictures. Two days ago my co-workers were on a convoy North of Baghdad. The Iraqis sprung a ambush on their vehicles. The initiated it with three explosive devices and the fired on my friends with AKs and RPG. Luckly only one soldier was slightly injured and one Hummer had it's brakes disabled by fragments. I think the quick reaction forces caught up with them and killed one and captured one.

My buddy(1973 Camaro) fired off 25 rounds at the attackers while they were evading the incoming fire.

Just antoher day in beautiful Iraq.
If you want to send anything to the troops, here is my address.
We will gladly send you some Iraqi Dinars with Saddam on the.
Wish I was home with the family and the cars, soon.

Hey Rich.

Do you have an updated Needs List? I forwarded this thread to some guys here at the hospital and one stand-up guy (whose Dad was USN in Vietnam) has already gone shopping, returning with a big box of (I think) toiletries. He is going to shoot for some books as well. I currently have the last year's worth of car mags (5.0, sorry heh) and PC mags, and should be able to dig up at least half a year of Maxim At any rate, what else comes to mind for you and your fellow warriors? We hope to send the boxes out this week for the sake of the holidays.

Peace, be safe

Ken

Hello
Kevin V, I want to thank you and your friends for the packages. The soldiers and myself used every item that was sent. It is a real morale booster to know that heros back home still care about the soldiers. Please tell everyone and anyone that soldiers here always enjoy recieving something from home.

I want thank everyone once more and we have a token of appreciation in the mail.

P.S. picture is to remember our fallen heros

Hey 91
That's part of the rocket (SS-30 ASTROS, 127mm), I had to dig about five feet into the ground to get that piece out. That rocket hit us about 10:30PM, some thought it was a low flying plane til it exploded.
The good news is that I will be in Texas for two weeks starting around the 28th, got leave.
I wish I was there for the gathering.

Ah nevermind That was before i knew you owned a couple of *cough* Stangs. JJ LOL No it will probably be the monday after thanksgiving but i well get you some stuff. Im thinking maybe some issues of vette (my least favorite of my subscriptions) and maybe the new car craft and super chevy. I still cant part with most of my back issues of camaro performers or super chevy or car craft. I will probably send some hot rod back issues.

Hey Rich!

Happy Thanksgiving man.

The ever-so-home-printed-looking Dinars made the trip, along with the plate (to which I gave the "Which way is up?" look )

Thanks for the letter as well. It's rewarding to know that there is something we can do for all that you do out there, and to know who you guys are. We enjoyed reading about the good you are doing, and not all the filtered cr@p we get from the media.

Good to see leave is in your immediate future. I hope the time here with family gives you more than enough energy to head back to saving the world with a smile, and a vengeance if necessary.

*** Bless, and thanks again Rich.

K

PS Update the list when it is prudent for you. If not for Christmas then for the New Year. I'm going through mags like nobody's biz, even if some are F0rd-related

Edit: PPS I am looking to buy a house and get married in the coming year. One thing at the front of my mind through this process is how thankful Leticia and I are that our warriors were there, are there and will be there to protect what we enjoy in the USA. (She is prior Army Reserve but forgives me for being prior active USN )

Greetings all,
I've been looking for this site/thread for a few months now. I'm a friend of Rich's and an F-Body owner too.
I just wanted to let you know he made it home in time for Thanksgiving with his family.

I HAVE MADE IT BACK!!!!!
It is great to be home and driving again. I want to thank everyone for their support, it really made a difference for those deployed and myself.

I have already started working on both of the Camaros and I hope to meet some of the local board members one day.

There is no place like home. Please remeber and support our troops.

Thank You
Rich Sahli

Hoooah!

Hey Rich! Glad to find out that you are safely stateside. Hope it's for a VERY long time, as in for good.

Again, thanks for your sacrifices Rich. I'm proud to know you even if it's just on TGO.

Peace,

K

PS Thanks and good luck to Ragin'87 as well.

Be safe friend. My family will say a word for you and your friends. Six years is a long time. I hope you get home soon, and stay there.

Take care, be safe
