Another welcome home and a very big thank you for your service. Don pulls the tranny and then takes out the motor but he has a lift. Good luck with your project and will be looking forward to seeing it.

Welcome home and thanks for keeping us safe.

It's a bitch either way.
The bell housing bolts are hard to get to, but with the trans attached the car has to be higher and most definately need a equalizer bar to change the tilt of the engine/trans assy.

Welcome home. It is probably easier to remove your trans and then pull the engine. If you pull the distributor, or at least remove the cap, and then get a tranny jack under the trans, you may be able to remove the rear mount and let the engine rock back on the mounts enough to let you get to the top bell housing bolts.

Yes, welcome back!

Has anyone tried using the 4th gen method of engine removal? Dropping the K-member and going out the bottom?

I would imagine you would need a lift or a big hole in the ground.

Well you could use it for a boat anchor-LOLOLOLo_ No I would not do that--I do envy the fact that you are in huntington beach as I am native to SD and miss the surfing--the mid west is where I am at now-no more beach parties or surfing, or year round clasic cars, but we make do and have barn parties ect
life is great
