This thread is to see if there is an interest in the people that will have to drive near/through Austin to get to the Houston gathering to meet up and caravan.

I live in South Austin (Mopac/290 a.k.a Ben White) and I plan on running up to Tomball to meet up with Mike to Caravan to the park. If anyone is interested in running up there with me, please post here, and then we can decide when and where to meet.

I'm in Bastrop...well between Smithville and Paige, and I'll meet ya somwhere. I suppose we should wait and see who else is coming too before we decide where to meet huh?

Okay, the time has come Matt, we need to figure this out. Looks like its gonna be your car and mine going up to Tombal to meet up Mike, then leave mike's at 1:15 and all three of us go to the meet.

Last time I went up to his place from my apartment it took about 2.5-3 hours going 80-100 most of the way. I took ben white past 35, then took a couple back roads to hit 290 instead of driving through the middle of austin and taking 290 the whole way.

I live in S. Austin at Mopac and 290/Benwhite, so we can meet around here if you want.

I was talking with Trevor and he said he can get a ride down here and I was gonna let him sit shotgun in my car to the meet.

So I guess we all need to meet up somewhere around 9:30 AM so that we can cruise on up and maybe have a little time to shoot teh chit with Mike instead of arriving right on time/late and having to find our way to the meet.

Trev, can you make it to austin still, or do I need to pick you up before the 9:30 meet and then meet with Matt?
Matt, where do you want to meet?

Well, I actually live between Smithville and Paige..so 290's right up the road from me...It's actually closer to Giddings than Bastrop, lol. If you plan on taking 290, maybe we could meet in somewhere in Giddings. McDonalds perhaps?...just throwin' out some ideas. I'm trying to talk Zimmstoy into goin' too, that way it'd be more of a convoy! Let me know....my AIM screen name is TranzamKarr if you've got AIM...

just to clear up any confusion, the path I took last time to houston was using hwy 71. From what I understand your just a little east of the airport right?

I'll actually sign onto my aim during the day tomorow at work and we can chat it up on there.

Trevor what works better for you, meet me near my place in austin, or meet all of us together in bastrop?

Yeah, 71 South goes right through Bastrop. If you take 71 to Bastrop, then turn off on 290 from 71, and take 290 to Giddings. It'll be easier for me to meet ya'll in Giddings, since it's closer.
Or if you prefer to take the 71 route...I could meet you at the Smithville Airport (it's right off 71), or Bastrop. I don't know how to get to Houston taking 71, I've only gone 290. I'm usually on AIM between 7-9:30 at night. My e-mail address is tamatt27@hotmail.com if you wanna get in touch that way. I think Zimmstoy's thinking of coming too, we'll see!

So what's the verdict? My new cat-back is leaking like hell, and my tail light blackout isn't going to be here by the meet DESPITE the fact that I ordered it on November 25!!!, but I'm still up for it! Let me know what the plan is before Sat ok?

how long would you say it takes to get from your place to tomball?

Trevor is going to drive to my place, and then we will hop in my car and head up to meet you. I sent you a PM with my cell number so I could get your address and talk to you....check your inbox.

Still working on the timing, but since your supposed to be on the way it sounds like we will just swing by and hook up for the drive up.

Just FYI, I have a bad driving record, so I prefer not to speed too much unless I have other vehicles around me to hide behind/next to.....so flow of traffic speed is what I expect to be driving

Well, I'll prob be on AIM tonight till 11:30 or so. My cell # is 512-971-5064 If we're taking 290, I can meet you guys in Giddings at the McDonalds or something so we can get somethin' to eat maybe. Or if you wanna take 71, I can meet you at the Smithville Airport.....it's the first Smithville exit, you'll see the Airport from 71. I live down a mile-long dirt road...so we prob shouldn't meet at my house, lol. If I don't hear from any of ya'll...I'll call one of ya around 9ish..maybe??
