GMHTP Red Third Gen For Sale

The car was formerly owned by Johnny Hunkins, former Editor of GM High Tech Performance magazine (now at Popular Hotrodding). The car was featured several times in the magazine, then known as "Project Magnum TPI"

Here are some former articles of the car:

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/tech/0305gm_tpi

http://www.gmhightechperformance.co...01gmhtp_pumping

The car currently sits on my trailer, where it has been for the last 5 or so months. I've never even had it off of the trailer it was delivered on.

No engine
No transmission (was originally an auto tranny car)
No wheels (just some junkyard rollers)
No brake calipers or rotors

Highlights:
The interior is immaculate, fully restored and looks brand new.
6-point rollbar installed (good for 10.00 ET)
Hotchkis lower control arms
Hotchkis adjustable panhard rod
Hotchkis front and rear swaybars
Hotckhis lowering springs
Hotchkis strut tower brace
Bilstein front and rear shocks
3" stainless "two on the left" SLP catback

Everything else appears to be stock (including rearend and torque arm)

The car is very complete minus the engine/tranny, someone could swap in another TPI engine/tranny and have a cheap roller easily.

Not sure how many miles on it, didn't really care since it was going to be my drag car. The body is straight, and someone could have a very cheap platform to start with for a drag car. With a cheap paint job, it could look almost new again.

Here are photos of it when it had wheels on it:

Here are the current photos, as it sits:

I'm selling the car for what I paid for it: $2,000 FIRM

I also have a like-new set of 15x3.5 and 15x10 Weld Racing Pro-Stars with brand new front tires and nearly new 26" drag slicks, that I will sell to the buyer of the car for an additional $750 cash. This deal is only for the buyer of the car, as I can use these wheels/tires on my '69 Camaro too.

Car is here in Houston, I can deliver it locally.

Edit: Also, it still has a fresh tie rod sleves, lower ball joints, idler arm, outer tie rods, inner tie rods, drag link, and both upper strut bearing plates have been replaced during the cars build up. Its a great deal and more than just a roller, dont let those junk yard wheels fool you.

Car: Faster
Engine: Than
Transmission: You!
The motor was a terd, that's why he sold it. It had an $8,000 (396 ci) stroker with DFI and it only ran 11.99 in the 1/4.

I dont think Johnny still works for GMHTP, does he?

It is a good rolling chassis though.
