I was just reminded, that at HRP, if U run faster than 14.0 ET U MUST have a helmet! I think, if U go through tech and are not sure what U run, U get one run and then they will wipe your number.

Larry Dunlap went out there a few months ago and found this out. Maybe Larry or others who have run at HRP that are more familar with this rule can shed more light on this.

I have a helmet and will bring it and will be glad to loan it out (as long as U are not using axle bearing grease on your hair).

If this is the way it is, then anybody that has a helmet needs to bring it!

yes, thats right, faster than 14 sec requires a helmet. Ididn't know this and went through tech, didnt ask me anything. After the first run the old lady in the time slip booth said, "hey sonny, you are gonna have to slow down or get a helmet". I ran like 13.4 something. So I borrowed a helmet from Texas LT1 and made a few more runs. So I guess you can make one run, or even two and get kicked out on the second run. After that I bought a helmet for $100, its ok, haven't even used it yet. Only trouble with borrowing helmets is you cant race against the guy you borrowed the helmet from. I will have mine there too.

hurm.. been looking around and I can't seem to find a price check on the strip for entrance fee. I figure I'm blind and someone will point out that I should have re-read the thread with my glasses on! :P

:lala:

anyway, can someone enlighten me what spectators fees are? can't run yet, tranny is flaky at WOT and still working on an idle issue but I can take pictures like a madman!

I think it's 10.00 to get in and 10.00 per car to run. Check the HRP website if U want to be sure.

What's the tranny doing at WFO? What kind of tranny?

Well, I'm surprised nobody had made any posts yet abput the meet yesterday. I know I had a good time! I'm moving a little slow today though. It sucks getting old!

It was good to visit with everybody and check out the rides. Learned a couple things.

Too bad the rain came at the strip--I left about 8:30 during the rain delay. Anybody stay later? What happened?

On a personal note--the gearing I have _3.73_ is perfect. I was going through the traps at 5700 RPM, so it is not necessary to modify my 700r4 to be able to run a 1/4 without over revving it, but I'll probably still do it since I have the parts needed.

Goin to this meet only got me excited/looking forward to the Dec gathering. We had thirty something cars there last year. Hope we can top that this year. Everybody get out there and pass out some of the flyers that 20N!N made up for us to pass out. (Thanks again Michael-- and it was good to finally have a chance to visit with U for a while). If U did not get to make it out--down load the flyer for the Dec meet-run a few copies- and pass them out to any thirdgen U see.

It was raining its **** off over here, so I didn't bother going (not to mention my nitrous bottle was empty, and the car is still dying at stoplights from it's idle issues, I'm thinking PROM after today, it idles Ok with the EST unhooked?). Anyhow I WILL be at the December gathering, hopefully with new tires/wheels on.

guess I'll stick the lil' guy in my wallet and hang on to it for a while!

had a great time, was awesome getting to meet people and hang out. I think we all had a pretty good time and at least we dodged the rain for the vast part of the day!

glad that we had as large of a turn-out as we did, seemed at least as large as the summer meet! we gotta do this more often!

I have a couple of pics up on my website that made the quality cut. I'll be fiddling with a few more of them in photoshop to see if I can touch up the blurriness and brighten up the light so things come in a little more clearly!

anyway, drop by the site: http://www.southernmystic.net/ and feel free to upload some of your own pics if you like!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out, I know I had a good time and we had a good turnout. Can't wait for the Christmas/New Years meet. I've got a lot of photos and some video too, photos I should be able to post in a couple of days, not sure when I'll get the video. I think we got at least one vid of everyone's run, plus I got 2 from inside my car. I'll keep y'all posted on that.

Oh yeah, and Colorado SUCKS Damn snow.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, did anyone else see the notchback GTA? I was walking through the staging lanes, waiting for one of me runs, when I saw it up at the front of the next lane over. I walked up to check it out and it looked ok, body was straight but paint didn't look all that great, under the hood looked stock. If I would have had a camera with me I would have taken a couple photos of it, but oh well.

d'oh! sorry we missed ya' Rob! was kinda lookin' forward to seein' the notchback again. maybe next month?

I had a blast and wouldn't have missed it for the world. So happy that the rain held out and that we were able to chill and appreciate each others company! We should try to get together and have an informal meet more often. I know we're all busy and such but maybe just those who can show up can just show up. We could hop to all the parks all around the city or something then have our major meets every quarter or whatever. Hell, we drew people just sitting there and without notice, wonder what it'd be like if we actually showed up in the same place next year and such! :P

Anyway, thanks for all the support and I really enjoyed meeting you all. Couldn't have done much food without Tristan's folks -- thanks for the charcoal and goodies! And thanks for everyone who brought something, and for those of you who just showed up, thanks for coming! It was a real treat, and like others, I really didn't want to come home!
