First Car; 92 Camaro RS
Well was looking for a sub-forum for project cars but couldn't find one, so I decided to post it here. Also I'm in San Antonio!
Let me introduce myself, my name is Fabio, 16 and this is my first car! The reason I went with this Camaro is because to me it looks amazing, well for a first car. Well I paid $1500 for it and the guy I bought it from said it was a 350 V8, with a Comp Cam, Holley intake, Headers & Exhaust, also a Hurst shifter. But for all I know he could be bs'n about the cam.
Day 1 Bringing the car home;
So as you can see for $1500 it's not bad. Personally I'm in love with it. I've had the car for one day, and so far the engine seems to be running fine. But I need to find a way to turn the electric fan on without having to get out of the car and attach a wire to the battery, and there seems to be a leak in the radiator. And the insides are pretty much like a pigs pen, I cleaned most of it out but the seats and carpets are gonners, but I'm thinking about picking up some 4th gen seats from a junk yard and dropping those in. And the paint's clear coat is peeling but that's the last on my list to worry about, and the previous owner used bondo on the drivers side to cover some rust i think??? I think it's a great first car though! Your thoughts?

In my opinion, if the body is mostly intact and it runs good, then you've got a good deal. You should bring it to our Statewide gathering. Check it out at:

I think the SA crew is planning a cruise up here on that date.

Only way to know for sure which motor you've got is to check the casting in the block...I believe its on the drivers side by the firewall. There is definetly some money in the car, so to me it looks like a good starter car.

Looks like a winner for a first car, should be enough to get yourself hurt! LOL

Excellent first car. My best friend's first car in HS was a '92 RS, although it was a v6 car in perfect shape. My high school car was an '89 Ford Escort.
I'd be curious to see if he was BS-ing ya about being a 350. Still, even a 305 in that condition is about right for $1500.
