Last year, 33 out of the 90 people/70 cars "I'm coming", actually showed up. Good numbers, but we CAN do better than just 33 cars, right?

Lets get a tally going like last year. Maybe an Award for the club with the most participation? If we do Judging, what classes would we have?

I need to know the # of cars & the # of people, to account for seating & parking. And LOCATION. I want to know WHO is coming from WHERE. Not just "Me +1", or whatever. Tell me NTTGA, DFW/El Paso/Houston/ATGO/wherever.

Other ideas that have been tossed around include photos of your car, and of course, a group shot.

I would like to see a Survivors classification for the car show, in addition to the regular categories

we'll work out the judging later... there's lots of ways to do it to make it fair, even if you are judging your own car (like throwing out high and lkow scores for each car)



Lots of other fun may happen, we're working on many ideas, but in any case, get yourself and your car there!

I hope we can get some sponsors so the prizes and swag will be memorable!

Will think about it, 3.5 hour drive in race bucket seats sounds painful.

 

Swap seats for "long" drives? 3.5 isn't a real big deal. Takes me a 45 min drive 1 way, just to go grocery shopping!

Im in, and I WILL actually show, just like last year.

 

Dont have any other seats. The 6 speed makes for great cruising though.

One of the cool things from last year was meeting the DFW guys in Corsicana and having a caravan down together. I'm hoping we can do that again.

I'll put a notice on the Dallas fort worth thread about this event, and create a signature banner that people can use to promote the event on this forum and others

Sure!

It is open to PEOPLE, whether they drive a 3rd gem or just love them. I already know of people coming who don't own a 3rd gen & are coming.

It's a long shot if the Camaro is going to be ready by then due to the fact that the Mrs has a bun in the oven and has cut my budget - so if the Army doesn't move me before then I would be in my DD...

Put me down as a solid maybe & I'll keep you all posted...

 

This year, we want to encourage parts swapping/selling. Let's help each other out by buying & selling our parts to each other. Lots of us need stuff & lots of us have stuff to sell. Lets make it a goal to have a "classifieds" going on this year!

yep, we met in Corsicana last year and Finished the trip in a caravan. It was great being near the lead and seeing a line of over a dozen 3rdgens behind me.

I'm there, and my wife. There is a slight chance we will be bringing our Monte Carlo instead of the Bird however....... hmmm... 1 more reason to get busy finishing that thing.

 

we could use somebody from the san antonio and houston groups to spearhead organizing in promoting this event. based on last year, we should have a large group coming from dallas but we would love to see more coming from the other areas too

 

I'm part of the ones RockyD is talking about. We have 3rd Gens too, including my 2 3rd gens, but our 4th gens are the trip worthy ones.
I haven't been on here in a while...can someone fill me in on the details so I can let my club know. Thanks

I love all classic GTO's.. sure they are invited, but for judging purposes, only 3rd gens will be in the "show"

I went to Facebook, did a search on there & found nothing, before I said "HUH???".

That is really gonna mess up our "Coming" counts though. People thinking they signing up there & not at TGO.
