Car Almost Stolen In Avondale

Someone tried to steal my camaro last night. at 2 am, they pulled my drivers side window back, popped off the T-tops, pushed it across the street and fired it up. when they did, my buddy heard it fire up and ran to check on his camaro, when he saw it was mine driving away at 2am. The car died, because they didnt turn on the fuel pump, right in front of my friend's apartment. he yelled get the f*** out of that car, the guy yelled back f*** you, its my car now. he couldnt get it started again, and took off. I found one of my T-tops in the parking lot where the car was, and the other across the street where they busted my steering column up. So i made out with only a broken steering column. No broken glass, i still have all of my gauges and stereo. After my friend Tim ran them off, all 5 of them, he came and got me. Thank *** for loud big blocks, and my bum friend who was up at 2am because he has no job. Of course the cops "couldnt do anything" and my liability only insurance isnt doing a damn bit of good. So anyone have a spare steering column laying around?

A kill switch is better security then any thing alse. Good thing you had one. OH yea cops are useless when it comes to things like this. The cops in Tucson don't do $hit when you car is stolen, so I could imagine that the cops in phoenix would do a whole lot less, seeing how more cars are stolen there.

well, i live on McDowell by 115th. Azvolfan, where are you at?

The guys that tried stealing it drove off in a white 95 or 96 lumina. They also broke the inside door handle, so they had to jump out of the T-tops, so ive got a nice foot print on my roof, looks like a converse all-star type shoe. also one of the guys names is John, ... For some reason he wrote his name in the dust on my back window, friggin moron. They were about mid twenties, a few white guys and a few mexicans. thats about all that i know. They have to have lived nearby or been through my complex when ive driven it because they were obviously after the motor, otherwise they would have taken the t-tops. Plus, that big block sounds pretty mean and would turn heads constantly. Keep an eye out. Ive gotten alot of replies on the classifieds for steering columns though, 75 shipped is a good deal for a tilt.

Those (blankity)'s charged me separately for 2 spindles and 2 backing plates (which were bolted to the spindles.) They are a decent yard sometimes, but that's ghey. Do you have to know someone there to get decent prices?

Aventura no... I have a house a little north of there. My car is as my name says: 79_EFI_Z. Although technically its not actually anything until I finish assembling it. I am running the 730 ecm with a HSR on a 383. There is still so much to do though.. paint and interior .. front brakes, routing the thirdgen wiring harness into my car.. etc..
