Famoso test & tune Feb 25th & 26th

Anybody ready to go to Famoso? They don't have very many open test & tunes posted.

I need to race until something breaks again. I guess I'll be looking to the southern tracks for my fix.

I think I will be out there, but I haven' t decided whether or not to take my car out. I had some issues the last time that I ran that I still need to resolve.

Lookout Vincent. I think you are going to have some competition from a couple of sources.

So nobody is going with a car?

I'll just have to get the fastest car title all alone.

I'll set a club 12.00 record before I get kicked out for going 11.60.

Sounds interesting but not sure I want to drive 180 miles to race.

Why kicked out for 11.60? Cage? Not obeying the 'new' 11.49 rule?

I was thinking no cage @ 11.99 and you can't race.

What's this new 11.49 rule thing?

I was thinking 11.60 since Jerry was a 11.61.

Supposedly you can run 11.49 instead of 11.99 (NHRA change) before you need a cage/bar/whatever on a hardtop. I think it changed sometime last year but havent heard much about it since then. As you know, sometimes tracks have their own set of desires.

I'm so far from that I dont care too much about it

That only applies to factory stock vehicles, once you mod it you are right back at "11.99 requires a cage". This rule was brought on for vehicles like ZO6s, SC Cobras, Vipers and the like that are capable of running into the 11s with a good driver.

Good luck Dwayne, wish I could make it out there with you ... next time.

I see. I didnt look too far into the always present ins+outs.

What about the fire jacket if you have a power adder and OE and/or <.024 firewall?
