Looking for a 350TPI and installer

My 305 TPI is about due for a rebuild, but I'm looking for someone who has a rebuilt 350 and possibly could do the swap for me. I can do it, but don't really have the time to. Any takers or leads?

Re: Looking for a 350TPI and installer

I can install it for you just PM me for details. As for the actual engine, I don't have a 350, but a 305 bare bones block, but you could search craigslist. Found mine there and I just rebuilt it. I also can rebuild engines for you to. If not and you want me to I can search for you as well. I have the old 305 block that can be made into a 350...if you want. Like I said just PM me.

I have to cry foul here....
There is no way to make a 305 into a 350.

I was wondering how it would take to get that myth straightened out.

Well, I suppose if someone really wanted to spend the money, a 305 block could be sleeved and stroked out to a 350, right?

Well, when you consider everything has been thinwall casted since 1970 and the bore on a 305 is 3.736 that would mean cutting a 1/4" out leaving no room for a sleeve and can you imagine the loss of strength and the over heating problem.

Stroking is a nother thing, but picture the cost.......completely absurd!

BTW Dave, I now have a 350 that could be rebuilt and installed by me.

Your car is TPI now isn't it?

EDIT: Typo corrected

Don the bore size is 3.736 on a third gen 305.

And yes you can build a 305 block to 356 CID. Just use a 30 over block and a 4 inch stroke crank.

Maybe if your an old truck driver and have the need for that 500 to 2,500 rpm power band or your trying for the lowest reving 350.
