They're a complete no-brainer. Just look at what's there, and imagine anything that makes it longer.
The amount of lowering is a chassis tuning adjustment. The perfect amount varies from car to car, and depends on how the car is used. Make some as described above, leave lots of material so there's plenty of places to drill bolt holes, and experiment.
