Baer and 16 Inch '85 IROC Wheels
#2
16" 1985 IROC wheels? How about 87 transition 88, 16" IROC wheels.....
What you are asking is fitment.....and yes it will fit if that (the Baer system) uses the 1-LE diameter rotor. Unfortunatly, GM uses about four different diameter rotors that they mask as a 12/13" rotor. One of those is actually 12.4", which I believe is the same rotor used on the 1-LE cars. There is also a true 13", but I do not believe that it will fit.
I have the 13" system and love it. But I am not running the IROC wheels......which I have always loved. See if you can get an itemized parts brake down of the kits, or find out the actaul diameter of the rotor that they use in there kit, for the 84-92 platform.

I should have stated my question more clearly: Will the Baer Track System (13 inch rotors) fit in a 16-inch wheel from an 85 IROC (my dilemma is whether I can use the 13's up front and the 12's in the rear or whether I'll have to go 12's on all four corners)?

It's not the rotors that hit the wheels. It's the calipers!
Get the template from Baer. That will answer you questions for certain. Do not get it faxed to you. Have them mail you one. they are pretty cool about stuff like this.

Just to clarify something I saw posted here..
baer sells three PBR front kits for our cars.. one is 12 x .85 (serious street) I believe, the next is 12x 1.10 (sport) and the Track kit is 13x1.10. I have the 12x1.10 system and a rear drum to disc conversion from them.. The difference between those last two kits is 10$ (the 12in kit is cheaper). They do not turn rotors from 13in to 12in since they sell the 12in kit by itself. If you call them they should be able to tell you without a template if the brakes will fit since they deal with our cars alot.. I believe the wording in their catalog for these systems states the the sport system will fit most 16in rims (it fit mine at the time) and the track system will fit "some" 16in rims..
Regardless highly recommended, these systems are simply amazing.

Hate to say it but it looks like you have three options.. one, get the template, two call them and ask for a tech that is their GM specialist, or three go with the 12 inchers.
Since I can only speak for T/As I can't help you directly but will say with that big of a purchase and outlay of money it is in your best interest to talk directly to the manufacturer.... I can say that they never steered me wrong.

I can't remember exactly but the number that pops in my head is $795.00.. it included a adj. proportioning vlv. a template that shows how to modify your existing prop vlv to release the residual pressure required for the old drums, brackets, parking brake cables, and of course the rotors and calipers.. the hardest part of the whole thing is that you need to take out the axle shafts and have a machine shop turn the flanges down to 5.9 in to allow the new rotor to slide on..
Hope that helps, I had never done any brake work before and the hardest parts of the whole thing were installing the proportioning vlv, and finding a shop to turn the flanges down.

No it's not a Baer setup. It is my own which I feel is better.

Nice setup! performance-wise identical but would of saved me a few days wait for the machining and some swear time while flaring.. Might of bought it if I had know about it in 2000 when I put the brakes on.. but Baer did give me a free t-shirt and liscence plate frame!
good job!

Yeah, I can see where a T shirt a license plate frame would make a difference.
