Bolt In Rear Coilovers
This may be old, but I just thought I would throw this out there. In the "whats new" section of the Hot Rod magazine I got yesterday there is a company that makes a bolt in coil over kit for our cars using QA1 adjustable shocks. All they provided was a phone number, no website. Maybe someone else can post the company and phone # as I'm at the library right now.

Car: '88 Formula

It may be a better choice to use, but not for our stock location. I've heard that the stock upper shock location has been known to be fairly week and it would take a lot fabricating to reinforce that area. I would also do away with the rubber bushing on the top of the shock since that lonely chunk of rubber/poly would be the only thing holding up the weight of the car. There are other ways of using an adjustable spring perch in the stock location.

If coilovers are you only approach I would suggest what slowTA says. He is right on. It is a weak spot but also w/ coilovers...you will get lots of rattle and noise....just happens...
