tranny mount= vibration

Well like everything with my car, one problem fixed and twelve more appear. I replaced my corroded rubber transmission mount with a new polyurethane mount. Now the car vibrates to the point where my fillings are about to come out of my teeth. What causes this, anyone know?

Sucks doesn't it I've been through the same thing, however mine doesn't vibe all that much, but nonetheless it's still there. What brand mount did you get?

This thread explains why you encounter vibes with a poly mount:

I'm not sure what brand it is. I ordered it from Spohn. **** is driving my nuts. Mine vibrates like mad. I might replace it with an oem rubber and keep the poly for the track. Is there a spacer between the mount and the tranny? Guess I might have to take a look.

I've had no problems with the poly trans mount in my Iroc, don't know what the problem might be.

It's real simple. I had the nasty vibration and then I noticed one of the bolts on the trans had fallen out. Next time around it was still pretty harsh so I removed that "pre-load" spacer plate and have been happy motoring ever since. Use lock tight and don't use the stupid spacer. I think the spacer is too thick and puts the transmission at a funny angle with the driveshaft.

I have a really bad vibration like you all are talking about. It seems like it may have started after I replaced my Trans mount.. The vibration you are all talking about is it in park also or only with a load on the trans?

Thanks
-Michael

Oh and it is a rubber one from autozone
