koni red struts or some other setup?

Hi, I'm interested in opinions as to whether or not it would be worth it to ship some struts back to koni for replacement / rebuild, which will probably cost a bit, or just save my money and put it into a coil-over setup or something else if anyone has suggestions. The rear Konis I pulled from my friend's car were fine, but the fronts had barely any rebound at all. Adjusting them wouldn't fix them if they are this bad, right? Any opinions appreciated. Thanks

I'm running Koni Reds on my 91Z28 and I'm really happy with them. I got both the front and the rear on the hardest setting. I might send the fronts in for rebuild soon, the rears are fresh and they seem a little bit stiffer.

These aren't gas-charged struts, they shouldn't move much when you compress them I didn't think.

by the same token they shouldn't be very easily compressed, should they?

Exactly, depends on the setting of the strut though. To adjust them, you need to compress them all the way. Mine are on their softest setting right now with my stock springs (the struts are fairly new). I've put quite a few miles on them now as they are, so whenever I get my front lowering springs installed, I'm going to kick the stiffness up a bit.
