the front is perfect, i just wish eibach had compensated for the weigh difference and made them accordingly.

I thought pro kits were supposed to be 1' lower all around? looking at ur pic it looks like you have the sportlines which are lower in the front givingthe car a rake.

take your stock rear springs and cut about 1/2-2/3 of a coil off of it and reinstall it with a piece of heater hose on the last coil instead of the spring isolator, the ride height will be just about right and you get rid of the stupid progressive rate rear springs...

Softer the first inch or so of compression and it gets stiffer with more compression--like its a stiffer spring. Better ride on regular roads , but higher spring rate kicks in when needed.

If U cut the spring--try about 1/2 coil--be careful how u cut it--without heat is the best way. If U use a torch, find a bucket--fill with water to right below where U are going to cut it, to keep it cool, so it does not heat rest of spring and remove spring temper.

I've cut my prokit springs about 1 coil and it sits a little lower, but the problem is after the spring is back in and the car is jack up on a hoist for work, the springs actually sits loose and before you lower the car, you got to make sure the spring are sitting correctlly.

I keep telling everyone that progressive rear coils is the way to go ona 3rd gen. Nobodies listening and still calling them stupid.
Its all about how you setup the rear suspension and what shocks you use.

I took out the isolators and it sat down pretty nice. There can be adverse effects. Start throwing your car hard into corners and you may discover them.

you know, others have posted this in the other thread, and I’ll say it here, I don’t believe that your “adverse effects” have anything to do with removing the isolators, I think there is something else wrong.

I’ve done it on 4 cars of my own as well as a number of friend’s cars and there are dozens of people on here and on other boards that have done it with no issues, and there just isn’t anything that can move around there that you change with the isolators and without to cause your issues.

One thing that I do suggest is to make sure that you have some heater hose seated on the last coil to make sure it stays in the pocket… to keep any noise down.

I agree Crossfire, and I hope by now that you know I respect your experience and knowledge on the suspension topic. Removing the isolator did not, in and of itself, cause any problems.

However I am convinced that the reduction in clearace, between the axle housing and frame snubbers, resulting from lowering, directly caused the sudden "HOLY CRAP" oversteer glitch that I was having. And the progressive rate Eibachs would only aggravate the problem, if you think about it.

Cutting about .75" off each snubber, with no other change, appears to have completely solved the problem.

I can only speak for my own car and only suggested that some guys MAY experience a problem like mine.

Oh, and expect your sway bar geometry to be off after lowering as well. Nothing major, but it all makes a difference.

its not fun running around with a lowered thirdgen. especially a camaro with the chin spoiler, but the advantages are worth it. with a good set of bars, springs, shocks, and bushings your ride will handle alot better. there are times (according to my g-tech) that i will do .8 g's on the street without sticky tires. thats impressive for a car with as long of a wheelbase as ours.

Southwest part of town. Ever go over to Hooters on SW boulevard? I haven't but I know there's an F-body group that meets there occasionally.
