Noise from front RH tire

I'm getting a noise from the front right tire, the tire is wearing un-evenly (outside edge is worn to the chords rest of tire is fine), and when I jack it up I can shake the tire a little which I'm assuming is the source of my problem.

The sound itself is hard to describe, it isn't constant kind of like a soft gental constant clunk clunk clunk, which gets worse when I hit a bump and goes away completly if I touch the brakes. The tire is on properly, that's the first thing I checked.

Any ideas?

Sounds like wheel bearings -- pretty cheap fix (~$25 for one seal & two bearings) if you do it yourself, but I don't know if that alone can screw up the camber enough to wear the tire like that. I'd say replace the bearings and if there's any more play, replace the ball joint and then get an alignment.

I agree, bearings maybe, but a clunk sounds more like the bottom ball joint, either way i would be getting it looked at asap.

It's not really a clunk, just somthing shaking around the noise is probably the play in the tire.

How hard are wheel bearings to do? Once the rotor is off do they just come out or do I need some kind of puller?

I probably hit a pothole or somthing and that threw off the camber and destroyed the bearings that would explain both.

Thanks for the advice, for $25 or so I'll just order the parts tommorrow morning and see if that does it.
