Spohn A - Arm Bushings

Hey guys, been pulling my hair out on this one, who ever thought it would be such a pain to find a set of bushings. I just bought set of Spohn tubular A - arms for my T/A black powder coated with spring pockets. Now the cars a show car and its all black I re-did the entire car with all black poly bushings. Now I just bought these beautiful a arms and they have red poly bushings in them. My questions is does anyone know a cross referance number to get a set threw energy, prothane or other company that makes black poly bushings. I called spohn and they said they only carry these bushings in red. Ive searched TGO with no luck I believe the LCA and A Arms use that same size bushing. Also a note the one I pulled out has the number 61217 written on it but the only thing thats matches that number is Prothane and they show that PN as being an 99 - 04 F 250 Superduty Track Arm Mount. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it Thanks.

Yep they only come in red. The one for the a-arm is custom made for Steve. So you're not going to find anything off the shelf for them.

Nothing a Sharpie can't fix.

Seriously, try it. They're the A-arm bushings, are people going to be looking that close?

Hey just wanted to let everyone know, I did a little more research into finding a comparable poly bushing in black for the spohn A arms. I found one at this URL http://www.mountainoffroad.com/catalog/UnivBushAssy/uba.htm part number BA200. They are the same size except the bolt and sleeve assembly "C" is 3/4 instead of 7/8 and the bushing "D" is 1 1/4 long verses the rears which are 5/8 and the fronts that are 1 1/8. See attached pic for a detailed pictorial. All you need to do is trim them to length and your good to go. Ill get some pics of the arms and bushings this weekend.

Well I got a couple of pics of the new Spohn A-Arms and black poly bushings. I gonna install them as soon as I get back from my trip. Consequently I now have a new set of bushings for sale if anyone needs them. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...ings-sale.html

Just make sure when you install them, you use put a coat of grease on the bushings.

The onl downfall to the ones that you got, is that they are missing the flutes for the grease to come out and lube the side of the poly bushings. Nice find man.

I saw this and it gave me an idea. How wide are the rear LCA bushings? ~3"

KAT - Thanks I ordered a tube from spohn wed so it will be here when I get back though its funny when I first ordered the first set from these guys I ordered Kit BA175 which stated 1 3/4 bushings but I didn’t allow for the tubing size anyway to make a long story short these are the next size down and they did have the flutes but for some reason the next size up didn’t have them. Ill call and find out on a plus note though the bolt is 9/16 instead of 1/2 so its heavier duty.

Scooter - I’m not sure which one you need but width wise if you take the 2 bushings end to end they are 2 1/2 inches on the inside. The rear bushing on the a arms (Front and Rear are different) are 3 inches end to end with a 1/2 space between the bushings for grease. I made a diagram for the sizes of the bushings up top. I did think also about rear lower control arms and I believe this will also work for them I don’t have any rear lower control arms but will be getting a set in a couple of weeks and ill let everyone know if they fit. Hope this helps

I mean the REAR Lower control arms, I saw those boulder bushings and thought about using them for my lower control arms. I already have Spohn units but they are the old design with the cheaper bearings (mine have less that 1000 miles and make a lot of noise already) and the HUGE nut in the middle. They are quite heavy and I am going to be making my own with aluminum tubing. I was thinking I could ise those boulder bushings for the forward bushing instead of rod ends all the way around. But I think they are too wide. I think the bushings on the rear LCA's are about 2 3/8" but I cant confirm this. The ones pictured are 3" wide, but they may be easy enough to modify for what I want to do with them.
