Ok, I was looking into getting a set of ZR1's for my 87. But I read that there might be some massaging or work to get the 315's to fit on the rear.

Who has a stock third gen rear with 17x11's with 315's, and what di dyou have to do to make it work?

I have that there might/might not be a need to remove the bump stop, hammer the front of teh fender well, or even as extreem as rolling th fender.

I did a search and everyone has either a different rear, different wheels, or different tires.

Any and all pics would also be helpful, thank you!

you have pretty much got it covered.

you have to massage the front of the inner wheel well a bit. Depending on your ride height, you may have interference issues with the bump stop. It may also become an issue when you drop the rear, the axle does move to the side a little and the wheels will most likely hang up on the bump stop.

The tires will sit pretty much flush with the outside of the car, unless you do some sheet metal work and get some aftermarket control arms.

an adjustable panhard bar will be a good idea if you dont already have on. It will allow you to make sure the rear is centered, this will be critical because of the tight clearances.

i have a stock 10 bolt from a thirdgen in my 89, with zr1 17x11 and 315/35/r17 tires, i just needed the spacers.

What size spacers did you use?

i dont remember. it depends on the offset of the specific zr1 replica you purchase. I believe it was 1.25"

With a 2.5" spacer in the back I have about 1/4" of space between the tire and inner fender on the back and it's only a 285/35-19. I have no clue how to fit a 315.

a 315 will fit, but it sits flush with the outside of the car, it sticks out more than your tires do.

try fitting a 335/30/18....

Ahaha..yeah, 315's should be enough overkill right now. Maybe if Im paving my street soon ill get the 335's.

They should be the standard 4th gen offset.

which zr1 offset are you using?

I dunno, whatever the standard offset is for 4th gens with 17x11's. They came off a 4th gen, so I assume 56mm.

you need to verify your offset to get the correct spacers, there are different kinds of zr1s out there.

I did see that. I belive its the 56mm offset. I will have to measure it, but im 99% sure its 56mm. Looks like 2 inch adapter, but I might look to get an 1/8 spacer to make it fight just right.
