Tweaked Chassis

Tweaked Chassis
Well, I finished my suspension upgrade this week and got the car back on the road. The one thing that has always been a problem is that the height differences between the 4 corners of the car indicated that the chassis is slightly tweaked. Right now as it sits, I have 24 3/4" at the left front, 25 1/8" at the right front, 26 1/2" at the righ rear, and 27 1/2" at the left rear. My components are as follows, Eibach lowering rear springs with Lakewood rear control arms, relocating brackets for the rear control arms, adjustable panhard bar, with KYB shocks, and UMI adjustable torque arm with trans cross member. The front consists of lowering springs, BMR tubular control arms, Founders strut plates, KYB adjustable struts, wonder bar, and strut tower brace, the sub frames are connected as well . The car is a t-top car and though the door gaps, fender gaps are great and the doors close fine, I just can't get it sit the same height from side to side. I wanted the car to have the front lower and it looks great and handles great too. Is this something that a frame rack would have to work its magic on? Thanks for any info and help.

Re: Tweaked Chassis
Give it some time (a few weeks) - springs settle over time. When I installed my Eibach springs, my car actually raised higher for the first week or so, until the springs settled in.

Here's a pic of the car from the passenger side. The rear tire sits 1" lower on this side than on the drivers side and the front on the passenger side sits about a 1/2" higher than the drivers side. I also included a pic of the new strut plates under the hood. I will give it some time to see how it settles out, thanks.

Car looks good!
On the rear, they are easy to work with - so if still have issues in a few weeks, maybe double check the isolators or something.
The fronts are a PITA - but if you only have 1/2 inch difference, I wouldn't worry. Usually, folks don't get the fronts indexed properly, and thus end up with a major difference. But with only 1/2 inch - I'd let it ride a few weeks and see if they settle in.

Thanks for the compliment, I've had this car since 1984 and it has been an ongoing project. My wife asked me one time years ago if the car would ever be done and I told her only when they stick me in the ground or I am physically unable to enjoy the hobby. There's always something to update and change.
